Flooring in Worthington: What We Actually Find
Every community has its own housing stock and its own recurring problems underfoot. Here's what we run into in Worthington specifically.
The housing stock
Worthington's housing is older and more characterful than most of Central Ohio — 1920s–1960s homes near the historic center, with everything from bungalows to colonials, plus newer builds on the fringes.
Subfloors and what's underneath
This is where subfloor condition matters most. Older Worthington homes have had decades of renovations, so we regularly find layered flooring, patched areas, and original hardwood under carpet. We take those out carefully — sometimes the hardwood is worth saving in a hallway and we'll work around it.
Projects we do most in Worthington
- Renovations in pre-1960s homes with layered or original flooring underneath
- Whole-room carpet replacement where a plaster-and-lath era floor needs leveling
- Kitchen and bathroom waterproof flooring in older homes with uneven subfloors
