Commercial-Grade Vinyl Flooring
Durable, professional flooring solutions for businesses that need floors that work as hard as they do. Minimal downtime, maximum durability.
Industries We Serve
Commercial flooring is a different discipline from residential work. The traffic is heavier, the downtime is expensive, and the failure modes are specific — adhesive breaking down under rolling loads, seams opening in temperature swings, wear layers wearing through where chairs pivot. We've installed vinyl plank in all of the environments below, and we specify the product and installation method for what each one actually does to a floor.
Offices
Professional appearance with commercial-grade durability. Wide-plank styles that impress clients and hold up to desk chairs and daily traffic.
Retail Spaces
Flooring that looks great and handles shopping carts, foot traffic, and constant use. Easy to clean and maintain between customers.
Restaurants & Cafes
Waterproof, slip-resistant, and easy to sanitize. Handles spills, kitchen traffic, and dining room use without warping or staining.
Medical Facilities
Hygienic, seamless flooring that meets healthcare standards. Chemical-resistant and easy to keep sterile. Low-VOC options available.
Choosing the Right Commercial Product
The single biggest factor in how long a commercial vinyl floor lasts is the wear layer thickness, measured in mils. Thin residential product that looks identical on a sample board will show traffic lanes within a year in a retail aisle. Here's how we typically spec projects by environment.
| Environment | Wear Layer | Install Method |
|---|---|---|
| Office suites & professional space | 12–20 mil | Click-lock or glue-down |
| Retail sales floor | 20–28 mil | Glue-down |
| Restaurant dining & kitchen | 20–28 mil, slip-rated | Glue-down, moisture barrier |
| Medical & clinical space | 20+ mil, low-VOC | Glue-down, coved options |
| Warehouse & back-of-house | 28+ mil or SPC rigid core | Glue-down |
Glue-down is the default for commercial work for one reason: a floating floor moves. Under heavy rolling loads and constant foot traffic, click-lock seams work open over time. Adhered installations stay put, feel solid underfoot, and handle the point loads that commercial environments produce. We'll specify click-lock only where the space genuinely calls for it — a leased suite where the floor may need to come back up, for instance. See our glue-down vinyl flooring and SPC & WPC rigid core pages for the technical detail.

How a Commercial Project Runs
Commercial work is scheduled around your operating hours, not ours. Most of our business installations happen after close, overnight, or across a weekend so the space is ready when staff and customers arrive.
Site walk & measurement
We measure the actual square footage, check subfloor flatness, test for moisture, and identify what has to move — fixtures, casework, or existing flooring. Commercial spaces often sit on concrete slabs, which behave differently from the wood subfloors in most homes, so this step matters more here.
Product specification
Based on traffic, cleaning routine, and budget, we recommend a specific product and wear layer. You get samples to see under your own lighting before committing, plus a written spec sheet of what's being installed and why.
Scheduling & phasing
We break the project into phases around your operating hours. Retail floors get done in sections so part of the store can stay open, or all at once overnight. You get a written schedule before we start.
Demo & subfloor prep
Removal of the old floor, then grinding or patching the slab, filling cracks, and applying moisture mitigation where readings call for it. Prep is where commercial floors succeed or fail — adhesive will not hold to a dusty or uneven slab.
Installation
Adhesive applied and planks set with attention to seam alignment and pattern repeat. Crew sizes are scaled to hit the schedule — a larger crew on a tight overnight window, a smaller one where the space stays partially occupied.
Trim, transitions & handoff
Baseboard reinstallation, transition strips at doorways and material changes, and a final walkthrough with you. We leave a clean site and a written summary of the product installed, so your maintenance team knows what to use on it.
On scheduling and downtime
A 5,000 sq ft retail floor is typically a two-to-three night job for a crew, plus cure time before fixtures and merchandise go back. We'd rather tell you that up front than promise a single overnight and leave you with a half-finished sales floor on a Monday morning. When we quote, you get a realistic schedule with the phases written out.
